Nyetimber awarded champion sparkling wine in a first for English sparkling wine
Nyetimber's just made history by becoming the first non-Champagne producer to win the International Wine Challenge's Champion Sparkling Wine trophy – their 2016 Blanc de Blancs scored a brilliant 97 points. What's really impressive is that head winemaker Cherie Spriggs has now won Sparkling Winemaker of the Year for the second time, and she's still the only woman ever to snag the award outside of Champagne. It's a proper moment for English sparkling wine putting itself on the world stage.
