OIV: tariffs and climate weigh on wine trade
The International Organisation of Vine and Wine's latest annual report paints a sobering picture for 2025. Global wine production barely budged with just 0.6% growth, whilst consumption fell 2.7% as consumers tightened their belts and shifted their habits. The UK market wasn't spared either, with consumption down 2.4%, though it remains the world's fifth largest. Tariffs and extreme weather continue to squeeze producers worldwide.
